Arielle moved from California to Illinois when she was 12. The bullying and ridicule she underwent in middle school ruined her self-esteem for many years. During the summer after 8th grade, with not one friend to hang out with, her father invited her to read and discuss "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.

Arielle moved from California to Illinois when she was 12. The bullying and ridicule she underwent in middle school ruined her self-esteem for many years. During the summer after 8th grade, with not one friend to hang out with, her father invited her to read and discuss "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.
When she began high school she reinvented herself by finding a skill to learn. When she didn't make the fall musical she joined the competitive swim team. Swim coach, Tony Harper, asked her team to visualize each stroke, each flip, each race. She began each race with a winning mindset and her confidence began to bloom.
